Some things I found while trolling the internet this morning…

Weer’d goes after the anti-rights cultists lies (again), who claimed that Starbucks stock would plummet after the three or so people who follow the NGVAG on twitter stopped going to mooch free wireless. Weer’d shows a picture of Starbucks (rising) stock and says

If you have a laptop you might want to flip it upside down for the sake of Elliot Fineman.

Zing!

Weer’d also has a story that pretty much sums up my childhood nightmares.

New York City has got to have the most clueless isolated ivory tower liberals… [Clarkson]In The World[/Clarkson]. According to a quick interweb search, the population of NYC is around 8 million. The population of the entire US is 313 million. That means a grand total of about 2.6% of the entire country lives in your wonderful isolation chamber. Get over yourselves. Really.

The Lone Star Parson had a .22 field day. It is very hard to beat a .22 for sheer entertainment, and when you increase the number of guns, the fun goes up exponentially!

Sean Sorrentino does his daily Gun Paradise posts, detailing how much “gun crime” a guy sitting at his computer in the US can find happening in all the lovely places where civilian ownership of firearms is banned/heavily regulated. Today’s had the quote that pretty much sums them all up:

“Here’s a clue. Guns will always be with us. Criminals will always be with us. Pretending that you can ban one or the other only makes you look like a fool.”

That’s the big thing I don’t understand about any progressive’s ideas for their government control–in what human civilization in the entire history of the world have we not seen crime, corruption, or otherwise disrespect for the rule of law? Ever? I’m waiting… in theology it’s called “Total Depravity,” which, don’t get me wrong, doesn’t mean that everything is as bad as it could possibly be, rather, it means that nothing is as good as it could possibly be, and nothing on Earth can ever get there. See, perfection is not achievable, and while it might be admirable to strain for it, the failure to plan for any Murphy Mishaps is pure foolishness.

And now I’ve rambled and quite enough, so go forth and read!

  1. “in what human civilization in the entire history of the world have we not seen crime, corruption, or otherwise disrespect for the rule of law? ”

    And that’s just the politicians…

  2. Thanks for the link.

I post one “Meanwhile in X Paradise” post a day and I’m caught up until April 4th. I haven’t missed a single day since September 25th of last year when I started doing them daily.

So much for the belief that gun control prevents gun crime.
