2 parts bourbon

1 part fernet (this local kind I get that is like condensed Christmas cookies)

And then a squirt of some thick, syrupy fig balsamic vinegar.
And no, you can’t have any. This is mine.

Wife has her friends over for an “avoiding the election 2016 mask and movie night” and I’ve got the dog in my computer room, a tall glass filled with cheap bourbon and coke, and skyrim is calling my name. Later taters.

Jameson’s and some very good local port. Yum yum. Just what my swollen tonsils need.

Head Clearing

Prescribed by my old neighbor, the retired cop: Double shot of whiskey, with as much black pepper as you can stand in it. Swirl it around and gulp it down.

Tried it with Cayenne, too, pretty much identical results.

I have made, after long absence, a new batch of tonic syrup. This time with bay leaf, a very healthy helping of crushed seed of paradise, and chopped lemongrass.

Is alright.

Rum, Tuaca, quarter of lime, quarter of a small lemon, ice.

Gin, grapefruit juice, and then some sort of liqueur (or syrup, like my awesome homemade grenadine).

One orange, squeezed.
Shot of tequila.
Shot of pisco.
Splash of Benedictine.
Splash of triple-sec.
Splash of roasted chestnut liqueur.
Fill the rest with ice and enjoy.
