Excuse me while I freak out a little bit

So with the new little yellow car I was down to half a tank of gas, and with the possibility of having a small road trip over the weekend decided it would be prudent to fill it up. Under ten bucks for half a tank. UNDER TEN BUCKS.

I like it.

  1. Isn’t it awesome?

    • Yeah! I’ve been saving for a good down payment for a little commuter car for three years, I’m glad that it’s worked out like this.

      • I had a little ’91 Civic hatchback (my parents bought it brand new and later gave it to me when I graduated from college so they could go buy a new car). Drove it till it was ~16 and the timing belt broke and killed the engine. I cried. That car not only got utterly insane gas milage that you pretty much only see in hybrids these days, but it had a tiny gas tank. So even when gas prices went through the roof I was rarely putting more than $25 in it for gas. It was awesome.

the other bonus is getting in the car at the end of the day, having forgotten to fill up in the morning, and realizing you can still drive 30 miles on the remaining gallon of gasoline in the tank.
