no joke on the trencher. That “dirt” looks rock hard.
When I was 15, my mother enlisted me as the “trencher” to install the irrigation system at home. Spade and Sharp shooter.
“install” is probably not the right word. Sounds like you could use a Yankee screwdriver to get the job done, no?
It’s not the dirt so much as the rocks. Been told by at least 4 neighbors that “oh yeah, we grow rocks up here.” Even the trencher bucked and jumped quite a bit, sometimes pretty alarmingly…
Unfortunately, still had to do quite a bit of shovel work to expose the existing pipes…
