The local gun store moved recently to a new 11,000 sq. ft. building (no more cramped, dark aisles and low ceilings! Yay!) so I thought I would stop in and see how crazy it was.
Well, it was.
At 2:30 on a Monday afternoon, the parking lot was 3/4 full. Lots of women and couples inside, buying guns. Some Asian folks, some Hispanic folks, a couple young kids who looked like they just turned old enough to buy their own gun. And of course lots of old white guys.
They had no AR15s. A few AR handgun-caliber carbines, and one Century Arms FAL. One M1A. A good selections of Glocks, a few XDs, one M&P pistol. Most of those were in .40SW. About 5 DA revolvers, but a case full of single actions. They didn’t have any of the three guns on the top of my list (Beretta 21a, Ruger GP100 or Security Six, and .357 lever gun), none of which are particularly high speed/low drag guns. Basically, they had a good selection of bolt actions and an ok selection of shotguns. Scattered boxes of random calibers of ammo, but nothing you could call a good supply. Weird seeing hundreds of feet of empty gun racks.
The guy I talked with said that they have no idea when things are supposed to come in, and when they do they are gone that morning.
So yeah, Coloradans are obviously in support of all these great new restrictions that the Democrats say will make rapists safer.
