Action Reaction

Yesterday in the newspaper there was an article about a restaurant up in a small town up in gas-well country north of here, that during the election either posted themselves or allowed someone else to post a couple Obama 2012 signs out front of their building. Followed, of course, by a 50% drop in patronage. This, of course, being in a liberal newspaper (but I repeat myself), was followed by much hand wringing and such about “those evil oil and gas guys are killing our livelihood, why can’t we all just get along?” and such–maybe not in so many words but a definite undercurrent. My response, yelled across the room (distressing the dogs but not, unfortunately, the managers of this dive), was “WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?” You know where you are located, and what your clientele is. Whether or not you think it’s smart or correct, WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?

In a similar vein, yesterday it also came to light that the Wounded Warrior Project doesn’t like those EeeeEEEeeeevul Gunnnnssss, thus alienating a not insignificant number of potential supporters. Again, my response is (say it with me!) “WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?” Whether or not your organization is supporting a good cause, stupidity on this level makes me just a little suspicious of anything to do with you. Whether or not you think it’s smart or correct, well…

WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?
